About Chicago Biofuels

Chicago Biofuels LLC started with the founder constructing a private lab and small-scale biodiesel production facility that produced 3000 gallons of ASTM standard biodiesel fuel in 2007. This work encompassed the entire supply chain of biodiesel production. This started by working with restaurant and food manufacturers for safe handling of their used cooking oil, to preparing and testing the feedstock for production into biodiesel, and ultimately  powering three diesel trucks on 100% biodiesel in the warmer months of the year. This unique approach provided the founder with a critical insight into business development, feedstock and commodities management, and the direct use of clean energy in various types of diesel engines. This approach may have been unconventional but it provided the education, experience and ability to build a company in it for the long haul.

From there, Chicago Biofuels has maintained its focus on clean energy development while expanding its portfolio of services. This work has expanded into logistical management in the world of trucking and rail, investment in R&D of feedstock production, and association with some of the leading recycling, sustainability and clean energy research companies and institutions in the country.
